Storecupboard concoctions!
How well this thread will work I don't know - I often create recipes from whatever I have in the cupboard and fridge. Some more random than others! I thought it might be nice to have a 'Something I threw together and it came out yummy' thread. So here goes with the first recipe:
Spiced tomaotey prawns - all amounts are random as it was just what was in the fridge: cooked prawns baby sweet pepper chopped red onion chopped leek chopped garlic puree couple cherry tomatoes halved glug of Reggae Reggae sauce good squirt of tomato ketchup good squirt of sweet chilli sauce (the thai dipping kind) tsp olive oil Fry the onions, leeks, garlic and peppers in the oil for a few minutes until starting to soften. Add the tomatoes and allow to heat through and just about to go squishy Add the prawns and cook for a few minutes. Add the reggae reggae sauce, chilli sauce and ketchup and heat through. I served mine over a jacket potato with a bit of side salad. Yum! I will note at this point that I have become somewhat addicted to Reggae Reggae sauce |
