Default 20twenty Cricket

Well I bit the bullet last month and got Sky sport, as most people know I hate football with a passion so I'll only have it for those months when there is Rugby or Cricket on. I've enjoyed the cricket so far but the real surprise for me has been 20twenty cricket.

20twenty is a real talking point at the moment with a lot of money being thrown at it and initially I didn't really get the attraction, cricket is supposed to be a slow game with warm beer and cucumber sandwiches, an image which I think puts a lot of people off, 5 days ending in a draw isn't really that inspiring unless you've developed a love for the game and the atmosphere (sadly I have ) However 20 overs each way can be completed in 3 hours, its almost always a tense affair with most results going to the wire, there's loud music, loads of boundries (where in test cricket you might see a few 4s and 6 in a days play in 20twenty there are constant boundaries. I must say I'm really taken with it and its only going to get more popular with the 20 for 20 for 20 match which Sir Allen Stanford has 'stumped up' (< see what I did there?) $20m for and will bring a lot of publicity to the game. The only downside is that it could be bad for test cricket but there will always be a demand for the county and international game so I don't think it will kill it out right

I'll be trying to get to at least one game of 20twenty this year and if you get a chance to see some I highly recommend it
