The more I think about this, the more I love it. The more I walk up hills, the more I think "LOL, I will get half way up on roller boots and then just WHEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEE go backwards all the way down again "
I think I'm going to want ski-like poles for this! With maybe little brushes on the end to sweep stones out my way Hahahahahaha! This is fab fab fab! As Kitten said Starscream - Exeter Express and Echo are down here... buuut theoretically I could wangle the Southern Daily Echo too as my parents are up that way... so I could relocate for extra coverage Anyone wanting to join in the fun and help out you're more than welcome to - be it photographing/writing/throwing water at me enroute so I don't collapse from heat exhaustion/cheering me on/pushing me up a wee hill/giving me a hug/shouting obscenities at me to make me go faster... it would be fab! I would say though, if you are serious about the whole roller blading then I would make sure you trained mahoosively! If it goes ahead then realistically we'd be looking at next year. I plan on speaking with a couple of the roller skating society people today (if I get the chance...) and seeing what they say about it all. I might be able to get a few training seshs in with a couple of them to ensure I have the right technique and then find someone local willing to push me to my limits, cycling around with me. I will also try and find out if there's a world record anywhere for furthest distance rollerbladed and if the above distance is anywhere near it, it will be extended in order to break it The Royal British Legion sounds like a good plan... though I do feel somewhat guilty for those who fought and were not British. If I can pull this off... it will be AWESOME! I will intend to raise *shed* loads of money too. Though guys and girls... I will need like... uber amounts of support here UBER amounts! Gonna have to pull out some old history books too! Something I didn't realise - on Sword beach, the first landing area was code named Roger! (Pickys name!) How funny! |
