42" TV for PS3 gaming - up to £700

Right, I've got a shortlist of TV's that I've been looking at in the last few days and am really not sure on what to get for gaming purposes mostly.
Here seem the best place to ask about gaming

(old series) Toshiba 42X3030D, 1080p LCD - £550 at play.com
(new series) Toshiba 42XV555D, 1080p LCD - £600 at various places
Panasonic TH42PX80, 720p Plasma - £550 with 5 year warranty at richersounds
Panasonic TH42PZ80, 1080p plasma - around £700

Ideally I'd like to be able to keep this TV till it goes kaput, so I'm not sure on the 720p plasma still, wouldn't want to get stuck with old technology in a year or two's time if I can help it.

I've been told however that the 720p panasonic has fantastic picture quality, what are plasmas like for long session gaming?
