I'm not going to be posting all the time but I want somewhere to dump stuff so this is my thread for doing so, consider it a 365/52/7 of a slacker

Popped out just now and tool this, it took me a bit of fiddling around to get anything like a moon and then I realised some fundamentals;

a) you need a fast shutter speed as the moon is a long way away and any movement at your end is going to cause blur.
b) the moon is bright but your camera will probably think that with all that dark sky it needs a long exposure (same as a)) you don't
c) ideally the aperture should be somewhere in the middle I think but my best shot was taken wide open

And I get this

Which with a 200mm lens I thought wasn't too bad
