Firefox and Spelling

A while back, when typing away in forums/elsewhere on firefox, if I made any spelling errors it would do the standard red underline and I would adjust typos/poop spelling accordingly.

Thing is.

It's broken

I've gone to tools, options, advanced and selected "check my spelling as I type" and does it work... nooooooo.

Turned it off, turned it on, done a wiggle for it.

Nada.

Any ideas?! Tis annoying as every so often I spot horrendous typos in my posts which I've scanned over and missed! Makes me cringe!!
