Schools are better now than when I was there, primary schools didn't even tell us about periods.
When we was learning about sex and all that jazz we was only really taught how to do it and what you could get if you don't use protection.
Then I moved school and we had a sexual health worker in to teach us, We learned how to put condoms on and we got free condoms and lube lol(flavoured too) she was really cool. she taught us everything their is to know.

I think schools are trying to be more open now and explain everything without holding anything back. Its the only way imo.
