Two metal brackets either side with screws in should be fine. So for each banana hook, 2 brackets and 2 screws. Hmm.

It might not look very attractive but could you weld them to a metal plate which you could then screw down to the desk. Failing that those plasticy things you attach cable to the wall with to make it look tidy?
