Ok, how about the Patriot? 16K quid brand new, 31/37mpg. Sorry to keep pushing the Jeeps, but they're what I'm familiar with. I haven't been impressed with any other SUV/Estate for years other than the Jeeps.

And if you're able to get close to 12K for the MINI, the extra 4K purchase price for the Patriot would mean one hell of a lot of miles in petrol to make up the cost of anything else I've seen listed.
