An update from Monday/my appointments this week:
I meant to update on here after Monday but it's taken me several days to actually get down to it. I think that due to a combination of being full of hormones and not being at work with my usual routine my sense of time is a bit fuzzy these days! I have that feeling of time going both fast and slow - if that makes any sense at all – and also of wanting things to happen soon but also apprehension that everything is about to change starting with what will be the most challenging physical event of my life so far Anyway, Roo is continuing to do well, she is active and growing as expected. My BP has been under control and I have been generally OK (just the usual late pregnancy gripes - tired and emotional, fed up of not being able to bend or see my feet!). We agreed with the consultant that I would be booked in to be induced on next Wednesday evening (my expected due date). This can take up to two days to be effective or I could go into labour naturally anytime before then. At today’s follow up appointment my BP has risen slightly and blood test results showed my kidneys are having to work a bit harder. All other checks were good and Roo is still getting everything she needs so it is not an immediate cause for concern but the doctor on duty suggested moving the date for induction forward. However, due to the weekend and other bookings this is likely to be Tuesday evening, so only one day earlier. I go to the hospital again on Sunday for follow up checks and they will review this again then. ...so still a bit of uncertainty but whatever happens now Roo should be with us by the end of next week at the latest! ‘Nesting’ really seemed to have kicked in for me the last couple of days – I suddenly feel compelled to undertake tasks like reorganising and cleaning out all the kitchen cupboards – so maybe nature will take it's course and it will be sooner rather than later!!
