Yee Gods Vauxhall - key prices

Managed to snaffle an exchange on my umm Fiesta for a Vectra over the weekend (Fiesta was overdue for an MOT and upon a quick discussion it turned out they had an SRi they wanted moving on...so straight swap)
What I didnt know was....the keyfob for the alarm isnt working

so now im annoying the neighbours everytime I get in the car (as the alarm goes nuts until the engine is running)

A) Vauxhall make you jump through hoops, dealing with non-existant codes
B) a new fob is a silly amount of money (and needs programming)
C) a new key is STUPID money (and needs programming)
D) I wish I understood Opcom / Tech 2 - so I could do it myself (and save lots of money

)
