Two Castles 10k: 44:47.
I have to say, it's definitely 'undulating' and not flat, and warm out there today. Still, aside from the dismal goody bag (contains a t-shirt, medal and 3 flyers, no food) well organized. Really struggled with this one, couldn't maintain the pace and ran a 7:25 mile at one point, didn't think I'd break 46 mins and then at 42 mins the 600m sign appeared. Managed a 14.1 mph sprint past a few people about 200m before the line then stopped my watch only to have to re-start it seeing another 50m to go! GPS recorded 6.22 (44:44) but then it also recorded 234bpm in mile one. Overall, given the foot and other issues (haven't slept much) happy enough, just waiting for the official results, rather than trying to trace my finger across a print out on the side of a van! [Edit] Interestingly enough, McMillan running takes my time and gives me a predicted 1:39:39 for the half, which is exactly what I got at Reading! Last edited by jmc41; 10-06-2012 at 12:28. |
