Default Looking to get back into Gig photography - Any SLR's going spare?

Hey Guys,

I'm looking to get back into gig photography after a few fun nights with my sisters band.

I'm currently using a rather old Canon 400D and the Nifty Fifty and so low light Vs. noise is a big issue and most of my work is done in post processing to adjust exposure and mess around with colours to keep it natural.

I hate using a flash for gigs, because I've found that unless you get the time to sort out your settings for the venue you'll just wash everything out and they might as well be playing in the school assembly hall with the lights on.

I'm looking at getting a new body and a good 1.4 prime, either 30mm or 50mm.

A few reviews give the Nikon D7000 a really good score for its low light performance, but I know and like Canon so would like to stick with them if possible.

I'm going to thoroughly interrogate the TP forums to see what info I can get from there, however as I know there are plenty of snap happy people on here I would be happy to relieve anyone of a second hand body for a decent price
