After trying to get my wheels aligned at a few independent places I was told it was possible but it would effect my 'active steering sensor' and I'd have a warning light on dash. I didn't want to pay the £250ish Stealers charge, so I mentioned it to my Indy garage when i booked it in for a service, He said have the wheels aligned and they will re-set the sensor.

The guy at the wheel alignment place said the reason for the problem is the Cruise control is controlled by satelite and that the steering if also effected by the satelite, when driving with CC on. He said that the system recognises a bend in the road and car will steer that way, a bit?
Found this on the BMW forums I sometimes read
