Oooops so you have a full install of fedora on the ps3 with all the tools, which allows you to directly access the hardware. So while there is still some copy protection lying around, you could probably hack the ps3 version of fedora that they use to make virtual drives. For instance open up the unit, unplug the dvd drive and then have a virtual drive replace the actual drive. From there you can run images of the s/w. Even better than that, disable the dvd drive using software and then you won't even void the warranty I see this as a BIG balls up by sony, its like handing the hackers the tools and the OS to screw about with the PS3. |
