Have to agree... one of my favourite films Alec Guiness is brilliant

I agree with loads of those above, as for other old films;

The Picture of Dorian Gray (1945)
Giant
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
Seven Samurai
Zulu
Papillion
Fiddler on the Roof
A Star is Born (1954)

It must be very nearly my favourite film of all time, certainly in my top 5: The Picture of Dorian Gray (1945) - With the sublime George Sanders....the much married (to two of the Gabor sisters - not both at the same time ) actor who always seemed to play men you shouldn't really like because they are cads or villans, but has such a charm you can't help it. He told David Niven that one day he would commit suicide, one day he did leaving his note 'Dear World. I am leaving because I am bored. I feel I have lived long enough. I am leaving you with your worries in this sweet cesspool. Good luck'

I totally agree with you on 'The Wicked Lady' Roberta..... James Mason as Jerry Jackson very nice
