Default Jessops in big trouble

Given their somewhat less-than-competitive prices, I can't say I'm surprised.

Wonder if they'll treat the Concorde pic I took 30 years ago and they lost as an asset. :/

A lot of people like my mum brought one camera and are happy. No developing costs and instant access is a winner for her. Even she now says "check the online price" of stuff.

I only went in there to look at the 400d and nikon d80

That's what I do - go in there to look at stuff and buy online.

That option might not be around much longer.

Depends on how stubborn they are. There is nothing to stop them from becoming an online only venture, but it would result in major redundancies, and possibly including some of the board members.

I bought my 30D from them ........ lets hope i don't have to use that warranty eh?

I only ever use them if they do price match, otherwise its just too expensive for camera gear. Disposables are ok when i am in a hurry but everything is at least 20% more expensive than online so i can't see this is unexpected.

I must agree I think Jessops are expensive. Lately I do what the other BD members do,. Have alook int he store then go online to buy.
Perhps they should do something like comet, were you can order online and collect from the shop !
Also they have stop doing Used equipment, as that was the only items I use to buy. Now I have to buy new I have to shop around more for tge best price. Were as buying a used camara from Jessops was cheaper option for something 1 or 2 years old and alot cheaper.
I own a Canon EOS 400D and I would like some new lense's, how ever I will not pay Jessos prices for them, if they had Used lens then perhaps I would. They have taken that choice away from me nowm at there own cost.

Not really a chain, just a shop purely dedicated to digital photography:
http://www.digitaldepot.co.uk/

They do online sales though
