1 grand's a lot of cash too!
I don't think there is yet any need for that much RAM unless you're talking about big mainframe/server based systems, even then that's obscene! Still that's pretty cool

Depends what it's doing
8GB's not uncommon even in mid-range servers these days, especially with it being adressable on standard level licensing (with 64bit Windows).

Got 8gb in this machine.
Had 2x2gb and then bought for another build another 2x2gb - and found it needed DDR2 not DDR *D'OH* so stuck it in this machine instead. XP64 likes memory. Simon/~Flibster
