It sure does

Don't you have to pay for that?

MB, you download all day from newsgroups, and your asking do you have to pay? There is a freeish or cheaper version i can't remember, and a slightly more expensive one with "supersearch" which is like a crap newzbin (ie dont pay for supersearch )

It's pretty easy to fall about newsleechers programs and if not by all means PM me, i may not use it until i'm in my flat next year but i sure as hell can get it...

I've noticed that the torrents have been dropping my Internet connection for some reason?? It'll work fine for the torrent but as soon as I want to use it for internet access, i have to disable then re-enable the connection?

So are you saying that the XL isn't worth it now?

XL is worth it.

I'd guess the torrents could be causing issues with your router.

XL is worth it for burst speed but if you max out your connection for more than a quarter of an hour during peak times (4-12) they are going to pin you back to 5Mb for 4 hours as punishment.

Obviously the trick is to schedule all d/l'ing for outside those times. This is going to screw the idea of legit internet downloading of movies being used as an alternative to Blockbuster for example, because if you d/l a file the size of a DVD by the time you get a quater of the way through you're going to get hit by the traffic shaping :/

Aha, the version of newsleecher that I had didn't seem to do it. If I can schedule the downloads then thats better still, though I still think I will install winvnc for remote tinkering from work

Thats a damn good point MB, all this limiting is really going to put a dent in the business plans by bbc and ilk to stream shows over the net using a form of p2p

Kinda lucky as I'm only downloading relatively small files - not native High-Def stuff. I VPN home first thing if I want something, and I'm normally done by midday/early afternoon - even on my paltry 2MB.
