Wink All hail the champion

Today, I received the prestigious accolade of "Safety champion of the month" aboard the rig for "outstanding safety leadership qualities" - so what do you think of that then?

Joking aside, it's actually quite an achievement. This is the first time the award has been given to someone who is not a member of the rig crew in the rig's five year history and I was told that the rig management would normally be loathe to give it to someone from a third party service company but they felt that it was justified in my case.

Here is a quote from the e-mail sent by the rig safety dude to his boss:

Here are a couple of piccies. First is of me receiving my award and the second is a close up of said award - a dodgy tinny beer mug

All hail the champion

Congratulations Always nice to be praised in the workplace! Especially if it's that rare for a third party company member to achieve it

Recognition for a job well done is always good - well done.

As an aside, I'm not sure I've ever seen pics of the inside of a rig (business end excepted) before. Don't know why, but somehow it wasn't what I expected.

COnGrATUlAAaTioOoONs! WooOOOO! That's wickedy woo Stanaroo!

You're just the man I need actually Stan! Have you heard the news?! Rumour has it in 2036 there's going to be an asteroid skimming past the Earth! Can we go blow it up?! You said I could press the big red button and ride the nuke like a cowboy!

PWeEeeeeeeeeeeASSSe!?!

w00t again for you!

Oh yeh - incidentally, whilst I was looking at this thread and scrolling down using the arrow keys on the keyboard, my cursor went from the pointy arrow to that pointy finger (as it was travelling over your piccy) Thing is - it was moving directly down your overalls and I thought I had magically undone your overalls with my cursor as it stopped right at the bottom of your zip! Made me giggle lots!

Well, if the asteroid doesn't get us in 2036, all the crashing computers will in 2038.

/doom monger

Computer crashes are about as likely as the asteroid hitting given what happened with the 'Millennium Bug'
