Today haven't done much - want to go to sleep but don't want to end the weekend just yet :/

Well, as we've arrived (and nearly gone past) another weekend, I thought I'd wake this thread up, because I do actually have stuff to report this week.
Friday night: Curry night. \o/ Saturday: Not a lot, but went phone and bed shopping. Sunday: Firsts, loads of 'em... Decided on Saturday evening, for reasons totally unknown, that I'd like to go find the local Parish church and maybe attend a service there to see what it was like. Like I said, no idea why, as I'm not a church-going person. Anyway, I decided to varry through my idea, so off I went and found it. I've been here on and off (mostly on) since 1990 and I'd never been there (though I did know very roughly where it was). Got there at 10AM, just in time for Morning Worship, so OK then, in I went. That'll be the first time I've been to a service in the diocese then, as well as the first time I've been to church on my own. May well be Garp's sort of place actually - no organ, so it was guitar and keyboard, and I suspect at least one other instrument though I wasn't close enough to see for sure. I don't think they could have chosen a more appropriate sermon to fit me if they'd tried. Coincidence? I'll leave you to make your own mind up there. Bearing in mind that church is over a mile away, when I was done, I decided on a 6-7 mile roundtrip walk to the retail park and back (6-7 miles through Newbury and out the other side). I didn't even go to buy anything - just look - and I spent the grand total of £2.49 while there. On return, I stopped off at my local pub and had lunch. Also a first (despite the length of time I've lived here I'd never actually been inside either of the local pubs). Having completed at least four firsts, I think I'm now going to bed. Congrats on all of them
Does sound a little more like my style of church, though ideally I like drums and bass guitar to back me up too Of course it could still be Mission Praise they were playing *shudder*

If you're prepared to try something a little more modern I can probably dig up some details of local churches Bound to be a newfrontiers church or similar near you.

Friday = Curry night too W00t!
Saturday = Playing about pointlessly with website designs and then smashing up bricks for hours and laying slabs Sunday = Go-into-town-and-find-me-a-blooming-bra. AND HURRAH! I found TWO! TWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWO! Albeit it's set me back £60 (for two bras and a pair of matching nix) I'm well happy! Heading to Mister Fakeyroos in a bit for some fud munching and general gallumphing about! Problem is... my desserts haven't set yet... and one of them resembles a cow turd. Slightly nervous of the response I will be receiving! Good weekend - active and busy really! |
