Default Gordon Ramsay: Cookalong Live

Anyone seen the adverts for this??

Basically, he's doing a 3 course meal cooked live on Friday 18th Jan and you cook it with him. There will be some web tutorials on the basics a few days in advance for people to watch before the big show. Just thought it might be a good idea for those budding chefs amongst us.

Looks really good, but it's a meal for 4 people and there are only 2 of us. Will wait to see if I can half the ingredients because I'd really like to have a go at this

Oh, I've just found the menu:

Starter
Scallops with tomato salsa
Main
Steak and chips with a rocket and Parmesan salad
Dessert
Chocolate mousse

Not particularly adventurous, but I fancy having a go at the scallops and I'm absolutely sure I can halve that. Just interested in having a go for curiosity's sake

[edit] Actually on second thoughts... if I'm cooking all this in an hour, I really wouldn't WANT to do much more, hehe.

I saw the ads and thought it was a good idea, although with only me here it would be pointless.

Hehe, steak is ALWAYS a winner, but I know how to cook it so I wasn't so excited about that! His chips are parboiled and then oven roasted... it says in his cookbook I thought he was doing chocolate something when I saw the equipment list, because it said the glass bowl had to fit snugly into a saucepan. Does look like a nice menu and I have a lot of the ingredients already... but not the expensive stuff. Boooo!

It's something I would like to try, but I don't have a TV within good view of the kitchen :/

Sounds like a good idea, though I imagine I'll watch it and try something out later.
I always find his timings a little too close to 'blue' for my taste :s

I'll be sitting there watching but probably eating something else because of a veggie / fish allergy mismatch, so I probably won't be following the recipe

I read the programme as being on the 18th at 9pm. Surely this can't be right, i think i must be missing something somewhere. Looks good but with just me it's not worth doing. I remember these sort of programmes from years ago, I also remember the episode of butterlflies where Ria tries to copy the TV cook and gets it all wrong
