Oooooh karma, i forgot to mention after my rant above, our boiled went kaput a week or so later We didn't get a new one for about a month (it was over 10 years old i think though...)

The boiler isn't difficult, it has one control and that's it. Your timer may be difficult, but it ain't the boiler!
