Thumbs up Moulin Rouge

Hurl your metro chants if you will, I ****ing love this film. So much life, colours, singing... it's great. A reasonably simple story told in a most outrageous way.

And who'd have thought McGreggor and Kidman could sing so well. Ok, so they paid for the best training, but still, it works so well on screen. The way they drop in well known songs is daft as a brush, but brilliantly clever. I cant think of anything like it.

This has been a public service announcement from the Ministry of Randomness.

I watched it under duress a few years ago when my missus wanted to watch it. Much to my surprise I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I completely agree with you - awesome movie. I didn't think I'd like it at all tbh but it's very cool

I love "Your Song"

I love to sing it The whole soundtrack is brilliant. El Tango de Roxanne in particular really is impressive.

Oh, their 'Rhythm of the Night' cover is spot on for that sort of thing. And 'Because We Can'

My dance school did a show based around this film that included the whole soundtrack, and what a show it was

Awesome

Just coming to the end of it now. Satine's death really is well shot, and McGreggor is top draw. It's god damn heartbreaking.

A great irony that a film with so much life ultimately ends in death.

I was doing a few bits for the dance/drama college a couple of years back and queried where a particular interpretation of a song came from. The teacher turned and stared at me and queried if I'd ever seen Moulin Rouge, which I hadn't. She then set me homework to watch it Out of curiosity rather than a sense of need I ambled into the college library and noticed they'd got a copy for student research purposes, so I borrowed that over night and was stunned by it. Its a fantastic film
