Default My planned photographic weekend.

Friday - pick up repaired 20d and test it. As it failed in under 200 shots I'm not impressed with Canon's build quality yet.

Pack my newly purchased item to prevent me having my camera bag with me and getting in the way all the time. Bought a US forces tactical vest from a local army surplus place. Almost exactly like this one. Filters, mp3 player, batteries, memory cards - sorted. I wanted a black one, got a urban camo one. It was £60 cheaper than the black one though!

Saturday - Duxford. Geekout day for me. As I volunteer there I tend to spend a lot of time around the aircraft, but rarely get to look at them. Only been in the fully opened Airspace hanger once *and was not impressed*

Looking forward to spending some time there - hopefully it won't be too cold.

Also - trying out the vest.

Sunday - this is going to be the difficult day for me. Armistice Day, Remberence Sunday, anniversary of Grandad's death and I'm spending it at the Cambridge American Cemetery.

Going to see if I can find my relatives there this time as well as doing some general photography. Same as I did last year really.

Could be an interesting weekend for me.

Well, weekend is already in danger of being cancelled...

20d picked up - and it's more broken than when dropped off. Arse. Worst bit is I only found that out after the shop is closed!

More seriously, went to the gym for the first time since my surgery. Doc said it would be ok after a month. However, it evidently isn't. Doing some very light weights *around 1/3 of what I normally did before the surgery* there's a crump, a ping and pain. Soooooo.... Off to A&E after some food. Could be slung up or even back in surgery soon then.

Arse bollockytit****!

Seriously though, sorry to hear you're having a sucky weekend.

Join the club, I've just picked the car up after the garage having it for a week and am now £515.85p lighter.

On the way to work the f***ing thing conked out again. Exactly like it did a week previously. and indeed

Thats surprising about your 20D. I can safely say that Canon's build quality is fantastic. I think you just got a randomly bad model.

Well, the 20d is headed towards the bin at this time. Took it back to the store again and they're going to see about getting me a 30D/40D instead. So been out with the trusty Fuji S9500 again today. 19793 shots and still going strong as good as the first day. It's tatty around the edges but still bloody works.

On the plus side, shoulder after ice packs and heat packs is reasonably fine. Spent a couple of hours at A&E and apparently there was a possibility this could happen as the ligaments settle back into position. Nice to be told that.

Combat vest worked well today. Recommended purchase from me. Holds all my filters, about 10 sets of batteries, release cable, memory cards, plus a couple of packets of Oreo's.

Well worth £30

But, Canon and Doctors are both bastards!

I've shot over 60,000 images with my Canon 10D. I think at least 30,000 with my 30D. I've had my 30D fixed twice but both fixed quickly under warranty. They make fantastic cameras. You won't find a better DSLR. Nikon's are basically the same. You just get unlucky some days. Sorry to hear about your shoulder, doesn't sound fun at all

I think I've got the only British Leyland made Canon 20D. Apart from it's not orange or barf green.

Really should see if I can borrow a Nikkon for a couple of days. Tried them in a shop and they felt fantastic. Much more suited to my grubbys.
