haha Numpty There is a possible other way round this, why don't you create a temporary user name with admin rights which is the same as the one you had on the old system, then access disk via that? Copy files then delete the profile?

Wouldn't work - file security is bound to the SID of an account, not the name. Creating a new account wouldn't maintain the SID, you'd have to restore it from backup for that.
