Default Safety footwear on the highstreet?

I need some steel toes for at work. Plenty of places sell them online and in catalogues but where can I buy them on the highstreet? I really need to try them on before I buy them.

Looking for trainer style shoes with a steel toe and a nice soft sole inside because I've got a bad knee. My old DM's will cripple me in the time it takes me to burst my foot open under something heavy

Try finding your local workwear shop, they usually sell things like chefs outfits and surgery scrubs like this place http://www.hewats.com/

Can work not sort out something for you?

I wear Arco shoes at work, but they get ordered in the labs.

Didn't know you could get trainer style safety shoes with a steel toecap..

I wear Grafters on site, they put up with no end of soaking and mud abuse on urban and rough ground. They are like hiking boots and super comfy. They also do a trainer. http://www.hewats.com/prod.php?sec=2&pid=72

Machinemart, Toolstation and Screwfix all do good ranges of safety footwear. I like CAT boots myself and of course the safety versions are cheaper than the non-safety ones becaused they're VAT-free.

Yes you can.

Some Millets/Blacks stock them (Magnums & Gripfast)

There's the Magnum Classics:

The Magnum 8" Response:

and a couple of Gripfast ones too.

The gripfast ones are trainer style, but there aren't any pics online as they are a Blacks Leisure Group product.
