Default Files in Office

I was under the impression that the personal files in Office where held in .PST files. However, I can't find them. I thought they were in the users hidden application data folder.

Any ideas?

That's Outlook's data file format, default location: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook (pop that in a run box).

It's always annoyed me there's 2 app data folders (%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data, and %USERPROFILE%\Application Data). Think they sorted that in Vista.

My dad got in a muddle with this transferring his settings over last night. I had to point him in the right direction. I'm fully aware of it and it still confuses me sometimes.

Well, they at least put Local and Roaming in the same place. Still two directories to search, but at least the same starting point.
