His funeral was today, brilliant service and very emotional, he had a full military funeral, managed to get inside the Church me and my sister went and it was a 11 o'clock service and we manged just to fit in at 10:10, I ended up crying when they brought his coffin in and they had Brothers in arms playing, his father and his best mate said some words and it was very moving, hundreds where stood outside in the cold listening to the service on speakers.

Cheers nothing more than I can say.
Laid a old school friend to rest, emotional morning. Went home had a few pints at a pub. Went to town to watch the football and the Royal Marines and his family were still out after seeing them at the church 11 hours before, drinking like the dead, awesome, simply. RIP |

Just read the thread, its crap to post in a thread about death as you cant say anything that will truly mean anything, but
It was a fitting tribute and a perfect send off, if that makes sense, he was just doing what he did and died doing it, moving funeral, they played Brothers in arms when the coffin was being brought in and I cried and they played Life on an open wave when he was laid to rest. The main that struck me was I have done nothing with my life but I am here breathing, just the way this world works. |
