Had my first 'issue' with PayPal
I use eBay and PayPal very regularly and don't often have problems.
Sold a lot of games on there a few weeks back, and one buyer was quite a late payer, ended up paying just before I went back to work for a few days so unable to go to the post office with it. So I just shoved it in the post with no proof of posting :/ This week, so about 3 weeks after the sale, I receive an email from PayPal saying that finds have been reversed from this buyer and asking me for information on where I sent the item to, what it was, how and when it was posted. I've received nothing from the buyer to say she hasn't received the game, or it's not what she wanted etc. Fired an email off to the buyer today to make sure a) she is aware of what's happened, and b) there isn't a problem. Just a bit annoyed that buyers can literally just reverse payments like that, surely that's really open to fraud. I really regret not getting proof of postage now, that was the only one I just shoved in the post box. I know it's my fault to a degree but just wanted to rant!

It really favours to the buyer now, and as a seller I just don't feel confident. I've stopped using it.
The last item I sold seemed to rely on the honesty of the buyer. He paid for the item, but PayPal suspended the funds until the item was marked as dispatched AND the buyer had left positive feedback. It took ages for him to do it, despite me having proof of delivery (including his signature viewable online!) for weeks. After several gentle reminders he finally left positive feedback and I got the money. I wonder what would happen if he just didn't leave feedback? Or left negative feedback? Would he get a refund AND keep hold of the item?

The other thing I've noticed is that as a seller you can't leave negative feedback for your buyer. So even if this girl has just decided she didn't want to pay for my item after all, I can't warn other sellers about it. How is that beneficial to anyone except fradsters?

I never sell anything on the bay anymore. Too many people ready to rip you off at any opportunity. PayPal have a terrible reputation

I still don't feel like that tbh. Fortunately all I end up losing is £17, I would have been more careful if it had been high value.
eBay and PayPal are just too damn convenient for me to boycott them.

I always get a proof of postage nowadays just in case. I've a feeling that this happens quite a lot!
