Default Good places for silver necklaces?

I've been asked to be a godfather. It seems the catholic tradition is for me to get a silver cross necklace say around 80. What jewellers are considered to be decent?
Also would a modern twist to the cross be ok, or does it need to be a traditional one?

I'd go for traditional and NOT go for Elizabeth Duke! they only sell clown necklaces and sygnet rings lol

Ernest Jones, F Hinds (is okish)

I agree with going for a traditional cross. Probably something simple and not too embellished.

Sorry, I don't know your jewelry stores!
Garp has a nice one from Ernest Jones though, so I second BB on that!

Personally I would pop into your local town and see whether you can find any side streets with small silver jeweller businesses on.

In Exeter we have a fair few and to me they will do something which is a little bit different and more special than your typical high street store. Normally I find it's better quality too

If you wanna go all out you could always go to Tiffanys! Can't go wrong there but your wallet may cry a little!

Good luck!

I second the Tiffany's motion. If you go with Sterling Silver the price tag is less painful. And check out Elsa Peretti's stuff. She's my favorite of their designers.

Acidhell, theres a little independent jewellers opposite the post office in Cotham. Just thought cos you know the area, or there will probably be a similar independent one over your way.
Inca are quite good, I think they have a few branches dotted about. New Jewellers in Cabots Circus, but ive not been in to vouch for it sorry.

Another for Tiffanys if you an find something in that price range, they do lovely stuff. Ortak also do some simple celtic crosses if you want something traditional but a bit different.

Cheers guys. I'll wonder into town on sat and stop of at cotham.
I like the look of this but it's a bit over budget. Would that type of thing be ok, or should I just get a plain one?

Acid, if your going to try the Cotham one then Inca, just the other side of whiteladies where clifton down is (inca is virtually opposite kiri's barber shop) might be worth popping your head in too.
