I only ask because I called Whitbread brewery Sh*tbread in the beer thread and it got filtered and then noticed Desmo said piss and it wasnt'/

Because people asked for it to be filtered and they didn't ask for the other on to be.

As people have asked it's probably better if we don't deliberately evade the swear filter isn't it?

I believe it caused problems for somebody browsing at work so it was added to the filter

It's not surprising, if you watch a lot of US reality TV you can say piss until the cows come home, but they'll filter every other word.

My friend made a good point on Twitter yesterday:
