360 questions
Lets say hypothetically I was considering buying a console in a few weeks when my work load is lessened and that console was a 360...
What is included in a 60GB pack? Wired controllers? Can I connect it to the net via my PC via ethernet using connection sharing or am I going to need 30 odd metres of ethernet/expensive wireless adapter to connect directly to the router? Can the sound be output in such a way as to leave me with a standard 3.5mm jack? This is because I want to output the sound through my PC so I can use those speakers rather than crap ones in the screen. I'd be using the (i assume) standard component cable. I suppose just something like this would work wouldn't it, as long the RCA ends were the other gender? How much is a decent bundle likely to set me back at the moment? What are the general media capabilities like compared to the PS3?

Xbox --> Laptop (via WiFi) --> Router --> Net. As for media, I can't compare to a PS3 as I've never really used one, but its great. Supports DIVX/XVID now too

Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped writing about other things and made this your signature, yours could be like mine. Look down, back up. Where are you? You're on Boat Drinks, reading the signature your signature could be like. I'm on a computer. |

If you want HDMI output you'll need a cable for that (beware the standard A/V connector blocks the HDMI socket). Also, the wireless controller takes two AA batteries. A set is supplied but if you're going to use it a fair bit then you might want to add a play and charge kit (includes rechargeable battery and cable) in your shopping list.

Not interested in HDMI as that would force me to use the built in speakers on the screen.
As for the controller, it'd probably be easier to get a set of 2500mAh AA rechargeables for a couple of quid.

I bought my play and charge kit off ebay for 7 quid and it's been great.

How does the play and charge kit actually work? How does it charge?

Via a USB cable Probably the only essential accessory imo, always proves useful. You also get a headset with the 60GB pack btw.

You can charge your controller off USB on any machine. I used to use my mac when as the charge cable wasn't long enough to reach the sofa.
