They want just shy of £500 with my watch, laptop and phone Didn't even bother telling them i had a bike worth £1k since they only had options that don't include their "premium bike insurance" upto £400... THMarch are looking pretty promising atm!

My advice is that keep it at home until you move out of your student house, I can't imagine wearing such a thing as a everyday watch !

That's a really nice watch, I really like the look of it. I didn't know that Maurice Lacroix did any as expensive as that, my Dad has a Maurice Lacroix Pontos and that's really nice.

I got my Seamaster from Goldsmiths, and they have a really quite cheap policy that covers accidental damage as well, I don't know if you can buy it if your watch wasn't bought there, though.

I really should have taken out that policy, I've some scratches on my bracelet clasp now They don't bother me that much, and I intend to keep my watch, so I guess it doesn't matter, it's an everyday watch so it's bound to get a few knocks! Don't listen to anyone who says that you shouldn't wear it, why should you not? The only time I don't wear mine is when I am planning on getting very drunk

Exactly, by not wearing it i'm defeating the point of owning it, i don't want it just to look at. I love the times i'm just sitting around outside somewhere glance at the time and a think "**** i love this watch and my parents excelled themselves choosing it, its perfect". I've even sent random texts to my mum telling her my watch is amazing (sounds teh gay but it really means that much to me).

Also i've been out totally drunk with it more times than i can remember, only because i ever intend to get so drunk beforehand really. Which is kinda what happened Sunday morning. I always wake up the next day in a sweat thinking "where the **** is my watch" for it to just be on the side where i always place it (i'm amazingly automnomous when drunk/paralytic ). Except Sunday it had fallen to one side and managed to get pretty well covered so for that day i was ****ing myself.

I think she actually bought it from Goldsmiths actually, so i might look into that as well then i guess, i'll give her a ring later and ask if she was offered anything. Need to go the bank first and get money sorted out before i bother phoning for insurance but THMarch do still look good!

A nice watch is there for wearing. I've worn mine pretty much all the time since I bought it over 11 years ago. It's been through hell in those years of drinking, stag do's, falling over, snowboarding, mountain bike and motorbike crashes, paintball and sex. Whatever I've done since I've had it, it's been on my wrist and I wouldn't have it any other way

Ouch. I added my cheapish bike and £30k worth of contents and it was under £200!

Amazing, sorting this out definitely on Monday now (coinciding with my student loan ). THMarch have definitely not been beaten after much other random searching around. I don't really need to insure anything else when i think about it. Laptop will come with extended warranty (Dell), Bike i just don't leave or trust to leave anywhere, and phone if i lose i can deal with thats my own silly fault.

Thanks Chaps
