Yup, it starts as normal.
Couldnt get the battery changed in Timpsons today cos they were shut (bank hol) so just thought I would post and ask before I can get there tomorrow after work.

The immobiliser on the Rover isn't connected to the ignition, it's seperate like an alarm.

Hence the £80 stinger.

I had a problem with my Key fob, it sometimes worked and sometimes didn't, the light still came on but it wouldn't do anything. For mine the soldering which connected the button to the board was broken.

First thing to do would be change the battery, I would say take it apart, but don't know if you would cause more harm that good

In the end I had to buy a new key fob which cost around £45

Man in Timpsons he say battery is fully charged and working. Vauxhall just want to book it in and look, which I really cant afford in my current circumstances.

Any ideas? Thanks for the help so far.

Tell me about it!! The only time there's been a car in my family with a remote for unlocking the doors, the damned receiver module just about smoked all the wiring under the instrument panel (read fuse box!! ).

Tina doesn't even have power locks on her car!!
