Default Unreal - An older version ?

My boy saw me playing UT2004 a couple of nights ago and wants it on his PC, but he's got an old box and won't run the latest version.

Is there an older version of it that I can get which will run on what I think is a PIII-700 (or maybe an 800) with half a gig of RAM and integrated graphics?

Unreal Tournament will work on that I think, might be able to sort you out a copy too Same basic game, just less different modes of play.

The original Unreal (so Unreal Tournament) engine would be fine on the CPU and with that memory, but the type of onboard graphics is the key. If it's a cheap chipset, you can kiss and 3d stuff goodbye. Worse, it might not even support DX9 :/

Does he game on it currently?

UT doesn't need DX9 iirc. I don't think it even existed back then

He plays some games but nothing that is 3d stuff. I figured that an older version wouldn't be anywhere near as graphically intense.

If you could Jen, that'd r0x0r his b0x0rs
