My phone is being ghay!

Got a nokia 5800 which is less than 6 months old, and today I went to meet a friend at the footy thinking it was weird she hadn't txt me, and when I got there she asked me why I hadn't txt her back after she had sent me one. I hadn't had any txts since Friday (or so I thought) when I turned my phone on and off I had 8 txt messages suddenly all in one go, dating back to Friday and then over the weekend/yesterday.

I rang my sister and asked her if she had had my txt from me that morning she said "yes did you not get mine"

I am able to send txts no problem and can make and receive phone calls and use the net, but for some reason I am unable to receive them unless I turn the phone off and back on again, and then I recieve them.

Rang o2, they arent having any problems, are sending me a new SIM card (the SIM card is only as old as the phone)

I cant re enter the message centre number because on this phone it can only be re-entered when you do a factory reset. I would do this right away but want to keep my txt messages already on my phone, I cant save them because to do that I need to use the nokia PC suite, which doesn't find my phone no matter how many times I uninstall it and reinstall it from the Nokia website. I have had this problem since I had the phone, but obviously it wasnt an issue until now.

Any ideas what this might be, I thought it might be the phone but when I put my SIM card in another phone it worked for a bit but then when I went to copy the contacts from my current phone onto the SIM card, I had two txts that I hadn't received on my old phone either.

Hope all that makes sense, any ideas/advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks for that Lozza, have backed it all up now, and a friend on FB gave me the link to the Nokia forum where people were having the exact same issue as me with texts, have done what they suggested on there and that appears to have fixed it. Thanks to Kitten and Leo for texting me last night to check it works. Fingers crossed it will carry on behaving.
