Networking experts anywhere? (DD-WRT)
Alright guys,
Here in halls we are on a network that authenticates accounts by MAC - usually enterprise level stuff through ethernet ports. Last year (around christmas - June) I ran my DD-WRT to clone my PC's MAC which was the registered one and then provide easy access for my PC and PS3 (although i did even pay for the extra package to authenticate my PS3) I got back a couple of weeks back and plugged everything in. The first web page I got directed back to our ISP's custom referal page to say 'router detected - this is against our T&Cs as it causes problems for other users on the network' within 30seconds I had it connected fine though (forget what I did). Then this week I had issues with the IPTV service that I got with the extra package and it wouldn't work properly unless I plugged straight into the wall, and it went downhill from there to the point where i wasn't getting a 'router detected' page - I just wasn't getting any page to load and HTTP requests died (twitter API calls worked still) Then today, I've had to setup a new account for this year and I've not been able to setup my router... so could someone let me know how I'd be best to set it up as theres that many possible settings I can't remember how I did it last year |
