Default Alright John, got a new motor...

I was waiting until I had some pictures of my own to post this but it hasn't happened so here's a piccie of my new ride. The Anglia is broken and I haven't had the time to fix it, new job and got to get to work, so here it is:

The only difference is it's wearing vintage UK plates instead of American plates and it's got a new black roof which is up most of the time.

It's running a 3.9 litre flathead V8 from around 1953, 5 speed gearbox with dog-leg first gear, crossplies, beam axle and drum brakes.

Picked it up on Tuesday and drove it back 150 miles from Norwich. Sits at 80 quite happily and returned 25mpg which is quite smart for an old motor like that with vintage twin carbs.

Just enjoying it as it is for now but will be tinkering with it and changing a few things as I get time.

Mwahahahaha love it

Really got to head round yours for a ride in that, looks nuts! Spray it up proper and that could be a keeper

Not quite pie crusts. They're dirt track tyres but next to no grip on the tarmac. They need replacing so I'll swap them to straight whitewalls.
