Default Win7 has become really unstable

Hey, I've been running Win7 since early august without any issues. But today it's all gone south. It's starts up okay, msn launches and you get chance to attempt to do something else - before I got as far as changing the auto-play settings before it froze up!

If I then alt, ctrl, del & logout/in again it repeats this. Last time I managed to start a virus scan before hitting the explorer crash. Oh ans task man opens with that 'white window' thing it does just to show how messed up things are.

Anyone have any ideas on a fix?

Sounds like something in the startup file. Win7 repair features have really been improved. Have you tried a start-up repair?

Boot from your install disk and start the install as normal> Select language> click next on OS to load> then on the install screen click on "Repair your Computer" NOT the Install.. Then just select the type of repair which in this case select the Start-up Repair option.

When done, look out for the "Click here for diagnostic and repair details" link. It's on the finish screen when it says a restart is needed. his will give details if anything was found.

Hope that helps.
