.. please check if they have the "WaitToKillAppTimeout" key in the following hive:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

Looks like it's a Windows 2000/XP specific key. Did you by any chance do an upgrade install on that PC?

Clean install about 2 years ago. It's just that logging off has become a problem. Wondered if the absense of this key was ... key
