What are the laws regarding what you can and cannot bring on a bus?
What's the biggest thing you can take on a bus? I'm currently without horseless chariot. I need to visit a scrapyard at very short notice (tomorrow) and i want to bring a rear bumper (at least) home, I don't think i'll be getting friends help, so i was wondering if the worst happens and i can't get a lift home would a bus driver let me on with a rear bumper ? I'd pay for a seat for the bumper and it can sit out the way unobtrusively and not block fire exits etc if need be ?
What are my chances? |

Cheese / Socks / Eskimos - Yes.
Bombs / Egg Sandwiches / Lepers - No. I couldn't find anything specifically on bumpers though I'm afraid

It takes up less room than a pram, and bus drivers let people faff about with them on buses - I don't think you;d have a problem.

Also if it is the middle of the day then there should be lots of room on the bus so shouldn't be a problem. People carry guitars etc on busses and they are a similar(ish) size to a bumper.

won't be a matter of laws it'll be down to company policy and probably more importantly the drivers discretion. You won't know until you try and they either let you on or they don't

Why don't you ring the bus company and explain your predicament? They might be able to tell you yes or no over the phone before you go.
Either way, one you've got it home, pics or it didn't happen.

Can't see a problem. I got on with a home made mortar once and they said nothing, even when I accidentally set it off and fired a can of Coke out of it. Might be different these days but it's a car bumper, not a 4-man inflatable dinghy
