Been having a play recently as part of some dev work and at £100 it was too much but for £50 my impulse purchase instinct is kicking in. Basically an Atom PC with a touch screen for £50! It is crippled by the Flash/flex UI (think iPhone) but can be hacked to run Ubuntu and even in standard form I can see it being a useful bit of kit.

I was tempted by one of them because I'm hopeless at remembering when I have stuff booked but apparently it can only use the O2 calendar which would mean I'd have to maintain an additional calendar which, quite frankly, I can't be arsed to do.

Now it if could hook into my iPhone calendar which is published to the interweb then I'd be sold.

Having read that a newly released firmware update allowed you to access your Google calendar, I picked up a Joggler today.

First impressions are good, it seems a remarkably solid piece of kit for £50 and after some minor faffing I've got everything from iCal syncing to my Google calendar which then appears on the Joggler.

I'm really liking the internet radio - the DAB radio in the kitchen gets quite iffy reception but this does the job nicely. The speaker is a bit crap but it'll do.

If I could mount it on the fridge (which seems the perfect place) I'd be tempted by one, but I don't believe that's possible due to the fitted stand. Is that right?

Meh - I click the link and I get this in both Firefox and Safari

/edit - And the same in Chrome.

The stand is a bit of a sod actually, it's fixes, both physically fixed to the Joggler and fixed at an angle so you can't change it. I've got my Joggler sitting on top of the fridge and would like to change the angle of the stand a bit to make the screen easier to read but I've had to put a couple of decks of cards under it instead. Not idea to say the least though I plan to modify the stand.

Also the power and ethernet (though I'm using WiFi) connectors are on the back of the unit so even if the stand were removable then it wouldn't mount flat to the fridge door.

First one had to be returned as it wouldn't get the new firmware, the second one has upgraded OK and internet radio etc is very good. Also have it synced up with my Google calendar. Only thing that isn't working is the Messages, is it working on yours?

This sounds interesting. Weren't they even more than £100 when they first launched? Hmmm. What are the specs like and is this effectively a cheap tablet PC?
