boring spec me a compact camera thread

At the moment I have a Sony T7 and tbh it has been junk since the day I bought it

Looking for something to use for holidays and general stuff

Must be easy to use, good indoors and compact as I don't want anything
bulky

any suggestions ?

Echoing Kitten's advice to me earlier, Fujifilm J37. We got the US variant, the J38, and it's small, but solid body that really feels like it can take some punishing, and also takes very decent photographs for a point-and-shoot.

Fuji seem to consistently do well around here - especially in the value for money category.

I'll throw Panasonic into the mix too. And of course Canon if you're so inclined.

PS - Never had any problems with my Sony DSC-P200, but I'd argue they went downhill pretty soon after that model, which is a shame.

I'd suggest a Panasonic TZ-series myself, we've got the TZ7 and it's an awesome camera, good quality pictures (even at night) and a really good zoom as well

The Panasonic looks good but it it too bulky for me I think

Mark - from some reviews it seems Sony may actualy be getting back on track

Yeah recently i've not been more impressed by anything other than the panasonic series in general! I have a canon ixus and its superb, but i pointed my mum towards the panasonic and was duly totally amazingly impressed! Bought my girl one for her birthday in october and it takes wonderful pictures has a wealth of options including bracketing and a BIG range of manual shutter speeds, and this was a £120 camera FS6 (or 7) i think. Even better is it has a hardware inteligent auto button and the misses (and my mum and everyong) just presses and it boom they dont have to engage their brain at all! "It just takes good pictures". great for drunken pictures too since its the easiest thing in the world to use. Its all full metal and the battery compartment feels totally solid, which is a big thing for me now because thats the first thing that falls apart on me on my previous canons and its annoying they havent fixed it yet!

why do they all have to have so bloody many in their ranges ?
