I was going to record this, but forgot it was on... I'll have to wait for it now, but based upon past performances, and the fact that the book wasn't all that great, I won't be holding my breath for it...

I half enjoyed it and was, again, half underwhelmed...
Me and Mrs Dym agreed that Pratchett is better in print (although it was nice to see him have a small part at the end ).

Kari and I have watched the first half so far. She's never read any Discworld novels, so had no preconceptions and she enjoyed it, especially Adora Belle Dearheart who is everything I perceived in my mind.
Going Postal is one of my favourite books, and so I was looking forward to it. My general thought is they've made a few odd story changes. Nothing major, but still little bits that seemed a bit unnecessary. The whole moralising over her smoking was absurd (don't remember it being in the book either, but it's been a while since I last read it). Hoping the second half picks up a bit. I'm a little disappointed that his suit isn't more golden. I pictured him as more used car salesman / quiz show host golden, not the rather tarnished thing he's been wearing so far.

I enjoyed it more than I have done the previous two but I think it suffers from the same problem as a lot of films/tv series that come from books. The books are far better and once again non of the Pratchett humour shone through.
The moralising of smoking thing really annoyed me but given it's time slot (6pm) it's clearly aimed at kids as well as adults and nowadays anyone who smokes is either a bad guy or delivering some kind of anti-smoking lesson. I also wasn't keen on Lipwig's costume, from the book it should have been properly golden and all they gave him was an off-gold hat |

3rd try for SKY and sorry still not anywhere good enough I know they have limited time to fit the books into on screen but when they do this the humour from Pratchett goes out the window along with the storyline of the books. It would have been fine to watch if you hadn't read any Pratchett before but for a lot of us who have it missed yet again.
The only good thing was Adora to come out of this as they got her pretty well done the rest of the characters just didn't get anywhere near. The only question is which book will they want to do next and make another muddle of.
