Great discount at Blacks through Quidco
I thought I'd make a thread on this in case anybody else is looking to get outdoor gear. If you go to Blacks through Quidco and use discount code 'quidco15', you get 15% off as well as 10% Quidco cashback. Code is valid until 10th July.
I'm having a walking holiday with my brother in a couple of weeks and needed a few bits and bobs and found this when I went to Quidco. Thought I'd share.

Just ordered a load of gear, amongst which was a new tent. I don't really need a new tent but my old one is getting a bit tatty so I thought I'd have a look and see if there were any decent cheap ones while I was there. I found a three man tent which had been reduced from £60 to £30, then there was 20% off all camping gear, then the 15% Quidco code discount. If you take the 10% cashback into consideration, I just bought a £60 tent for £18.36 It won't be the best quality tent in the world but, for all the camping I do, it'll be just fine.

That tent is fantastic for general camping, and the design has been around longer then my granddad
Great heard-wearing trousers there (albeit slightly too thick for me, but that's more of a personal preference ) The lantern is only sold in Millets stores so can't really comment on that. Ranger 3 compass is a good choice - Silva are great for their warranties and customer service but they aren't normally needed as their products last forever! The ALS shoes were a hit for the staff at work and never saw any issues with them, it's the own brand versions of stuff you'll find in Next/etc without the stupid price tag

The tent won't be used all that much and never in really bad weather so, as long as it's half decent, that's great. I like thick, heavy trousers - especially for tramping over hills. I'll hopefully be doing a fair bit of hiking in the future so it's nice to have a reliable compass. The shoes were a bit of an afterthought. I could do with a comfy pair of pumps just for lounging around and if the grip is as good as the description says, they'll be perfect for my evening walks around the helideck on the rig - it gets a little slippy in the evening when the air starts to cool a little.

What 3 man tent would you suggest as an investment Blighter? My last one lasted me around 8 years of multi use. Festivals were the only thing that (obviously) wore it down, i wouldn't mind another for the future. After a quick look at 3/4 man tents the dart stan bought seems perfect for me too, i looked at the two slighter dearer ones and yes they're a kinda pop up design, but i don't care about that, it takes about 5 mins to put a normal tent up anyway? *shrugs* anything else i should be looking out for?

Right i'm torn between:
http://www.blacks.co.uk/clearance/ca...t/096115.html# and http://www.blacks.co.uk/product.html...item=092952820 Ones a two and ones a three but i think they'll offer roughly the same room, since the vango seems to have a massive porch area? |
