Default Flash Tracer unable to write to its own log file!

I've tried to get a couple of Flash Tracers working, for both IE & Firefox.

They can all create the file and write to it initially. It appears that then they are unable to access the file because they can't clear it and the same content always reappears.

Has anybody experienced this before or have any idea what it might be caused by? I've checked for read-only problems, I'm admin etc... no idea

No idea what you're talking about, but Windows Vista/7? Try turning UAC off, if it's on. Don't forget to change it back afterwards.

its on my XP machine at work. none of us could figure it out so thought i'd check on here.

one of the apps is; http://www.sephiroth.it/firefox/flashtracer/

they help to debug flash apps, but as I say, this one can't write to its own log file so is a little useless.

It's UAC-safe, so not that anyway.

Delete its existing log, then create an empty one using Notepad, then try it.

ok, I just checked the file & it has been writing to it, but it still refuses to clear the file & when I attempt to do that myself in notepad & then save it, it says its unable to create the file. :/

Did you close all browser windows first?

Just got a bit more info on this.

If I close Firefox completely then Vizzy (the standalone tracer) can clear the log file and opperate as expected. If Firefox is open then it can't clear the file, but writes plenty to it. Rather annoying that FF takes over as I really need both IE & FF open :/

You would need to have the files saved to different places. Dunno if that's possible.
