About the only use of the hire bike is that it may make the insurance company settle quicker as every day they waste they pay for the hire bike.

Got my compo cheq for 1500 quid last week & it cleared Friday then on Saturday I opened a letter with a cheq for 570 in it, They gave me 600 for the bike kept 30 & let me keep my bike, It has actually worked out really well & I cannot fault the Dudes insurance one bit. In my mind/heart I've forgiven the Dude now hoping that Karma settles down for all of us, I know that don't make sense really but what I mean is there is no hate there.
Cheers for asking.

Sounds like a fair result overall, obviously you'd have preferred it not to happen but as far as these things go it seems you were treated reasonably. Hope you're back to feeling 100% too.
