Default Say bye-bye

An era of the J69 garage came to a close this afternoon.

Yesterday was a bit of a rush over a failed MOT, but the T is off to its new home in Cambridge. Because the Anglia is in having some work done, I'm left with an empty garage for probably the first time in all my years driving. I'd better get that old bike going...

I posted this on Facebook as well and everyone has thought something tragic has happened! I 'sold' the car about 6 months ago and have had the deposit sitting in the bank until the new owner got probate. It finally happened in a rush last week but he wanted a fresh MOT. I couldn't get it in my normal place in time and you can't just put an old car in many MOT places because they don't know what they're looking at and they'll either fail it on things that shouldn't be tested on or not properly check the things that are important on an old car, like kingpins.

Anyhoos, I found a suitable MOT station, but it failed on a stuck front brake cylinder and a bit of welding which I had to do in a bit of a rush yesterday, ready for a re-test first thing this morning, so that the new owner could pick it up at lunchtime

I'm not actually *that* upset about it. It's a shame for it to go, but it was never my car because I didn't build it and all I did was put my mark on it, do a bit of maintenance and rack up some miles. It wasn't like when I sold my Pop - I was properly cut up about that one and even then I was ready to part with it!

A much sadder scene in my memory:

Next, is an all-original Model A, which will be my hotrod, but we'll have to wait until I move house for that

End of an Era.

Look forward to your next project though.
