Default Antimode and room correction

Well after months of umming and arring I went and got an Antimode 8033. I know that at certain frequencies my room resonates and was on my list of things to sort. This can be evidenced by watching one film fine, then watch another where the explosions / action piece hits just the right tone..... and the windows nearly get blown out

I've heard a lot about the antimode over on AVForums and the dual core version has just been given reference status for audio quality. Well, they must be doing something right!

The actual installation was pretty simple. Put the thing between the sub and amp. Then plug in the mic and hit the calibrate button. Give it 15mins to sort the config and jobs a good'un.

No faff, just works, my kind of solution I haven't got time to sit around with an SPL meter and work out the exact acoustic properties of my room.

The effect

Well, quite simply damn impressive. The tendency of the sub to drone and boom at certain frequencies is gone. The most surprising effect is the appearance of other sounds that were muffled out before.

Well worth the £220, without delving into acoustic matting and other bits which would turn it into a cinema room rather than a living room.
